Choosing the proper employee for the job is the result of an exhaustive interview process. Making sure that the employee meets the demand of the job description is the job of the MedXcel staff. At MedXcel, our staff performs DOT, non-DOT, Crane Operator, HAZMAT, Benzene, routine and sports physicals on a daily basis. It is our mission to provide the employer with the most complete medical picture of a potential employee in order to reduce the risk associated with the hire.
DOT and Crane Operator physicals are important tools for identifying employees at medical risk for performing these federally regulated job titles. MedXcel providers are kept up to date on DOT regulations through its continuing education program.
Hypertension is a leading cause for medical hold status during the pre-employment process. Many times the cause of the hypertension is known as “white coat syndrome.” In other words, people get nervous at the doctor’s! MedXcel understands that an employer needs a medically qualified person on the job. We have implemented the use of the ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor) to effectively screen for “white coat syndrome.”
Employment candidates over 40 are recommended to receive an EKG. This testing is performed in house with the results sent to an Internal Medicine physician for over reads. A physical is treated with the same level if expertise we would give any other EKG by contracting with the appropriate physician for the interpretations.
